I was a counterintelligence agent with the U. S. Army and lived in the Republic of Korea for five years.

Employed by Kemper Insurance for over a decade, I managed all of their boiler and machinery underwriting in four Southeastern states.

Subsequently, I had 13 years of commercial radio experience, both on the air and as an award-winning copywriter and production director.

As a licensed Realtor, I listed and sold both multiple individual homes and once an entire subdivision.

​

Offered an opportunity to assist a small business, I became a part- owner, helping to develop a prime supplier of water treatment systems to high-end custom home builders.

​

In the course of becoming a full-time writer and editor, I also accepted short-term jobs that included managing the office at a Ferrari repair facility, pre-need marketing at a funeral home, creating eBay listings for several clients, security system sales, and auto parts delivery.
